Teachers' Action Plan Overview

Documents linked to this page are designed to help teachers or school systems create an action plan. They include: an introductory outline, philosophy section, policy section, procedure section, and expected outcomes.

You are encouraged to download it and edit it to create your own Action Plan.

An Action Plan is a document that can be used to help clarify what you as a teacher (school or district) will do, focus your actions to your desires, and communicate them to others. This sample has three main sections (philosophy, policy, and procedure) see its outline.

Philosophy statements are divided into categories. These categories are selected so that any topic related to a school curriculum will fall within one category sample. If you find a topic which does not, I would appreciate hearing from you.

Policy statements are guarantees made by a teacher, to students, administrators, parents, or community members sample. You may want to add sample policy statements for students. However, to gain student acceptance, students should write or help write them. Probably in a class meeting. If you are making a district action plan, you would include policy statements for administrators and some considerations for students. Policy statements for students and administrators are not been included.

Procedure statements are descriptions of the actions the teacher, student, or administrator make to implement the policies. Or to meet the guarantees sample.

Expected outcomes are descriptions of what is expect to happen when the procedures for achieving the policies are carried out sample.

These documents are not finished. They are working documents. Documents with different philosphy and policy statements would result in significantly different procedures and expected outcomes as a result of how the philosophies vary. Since there are many possible policy statements and many ways to organize them, the procedure and expected outcomes may or may not be very useful. If you find the procedures to your liking or not, the sample should provide ideas on crafting procedures and outcomes.

Good Luck and Enjoy!
